Product details

Acer campestre Queen Elizabeth™ is a new American cultivar of the Common field maple, Acer campestre, which is also known as Evelyn. This cultivar is vigorous and grows with a quite compact and relatively columnar shape in comparison with its parent with ascending branch angles of approx 45° to the main central stem.

It has much larger and darker leaves than Acer campestre and the other cultivars related to this parent and is expected to grows to a slightly larger eventual height. Like its parent Acer campestre Queen Elizabeth™ is tolerant of most soil types, although it does do best in rich, well drained soils.

As with many of the native trees, it is a tough contender and will tolerate drought, air pollution and soil compaction. This tree is best suited to projects where uniformity is required, it is suited to gardens and has also been planted extensively in urban environments as a street tree.

Mature height: 7-12m
