Product details
Corylus avellana Contorta, known as Corkscrew Hazel and Harry Lauder’s Walking Stick, resembles a bonsai so is perfect for a centrepiece in a small garden.
Its contorted branches give it an architectural beauty all of its own. Yellow catkins are produced in February / March and its green leaves turn a buttercup yellow in the autumn before they fall.
Discovered in a Gloucestershire hedgerow in the 1860s, Corylus avellana Contorta thrives on any free draining soil and its twiggy growth can be harvested for seasonal decoration in the house.
Mature Height: 3-5m
