Product details

Betula pendula Dalecarlica is an elegant and attractive Birch tree which reaches reasonable heights and has a graceful, weeping appearance at maturity.

The Swedish Birch has dark green, deeply serrated leaves which has earned this tree other references such as Crispa and Laciniata. The peeling white bark becomes more and more prolific as the tree matures. At maturity this attractive tree has a slender and broadly columnar shaped crown.

Very good for parks and woodland but not suitable for areas where soil becomes compacted or where there is too much reflected heat and light.

Like most Brich trees, this tree prefers to be sited on a well drained soil, performing best in areas with dappled shade and most suited to areas which can accomodate its eventual magnitude.

Mature height: 12-17m
