Product details

Acer platanoides Columnare, known as the Column Norway Maple, was introduced in the mid-1850s as a tough urban tree that copes well with most soil types and the reflected heat and light associated with built up areas.

Its ascending and stubby branch network lends itself to be planted in more confined areas than its parent, Acer platanoides, but Acer platanoides Columnare still makes a sizable tree so best to avoid planting in small gardens.

Its crisp green foliage turns a soft yellow before leaf fall in the autumn and small yellow cluster flowers are produced early in the spring.

Mature height: 12-17m
