Product details

Acer cappadocicum Rubrum, known as the Caucasian Maple, was introduced into the UK in the late 1830s. Its young leaves emerge red before tuning green in summer and then back to red, gold and then yellow before dropping in the autumn.

It thrives best on moist but well drained soils and is suited to rural rather than urban areas where the ground can be more compacted. Acer cappadocicum Rubrum also favours sheltered positions away from strong winds so is often found tucked away in leafy parkland plant collections.

Mature height: 12-17m
